FAQ
Q: Are dogs kenneled throughout the day?
A: Only the board and train dogs are kenneled. Daycare dogs aren’t unless a dog is causing problems, or the owner requests it :). We aim to emulate a home environment during kenneling, to keep your dog as comfortable as possible.

Q: What kind of leashes do you use? Or do we send our pups leash?
A: We use our own slip-leashes.
Q: How do you tell if a dog is uncomfortable when crowded or their personal space is crowded?
A: They go stiff and their eye pupils get big. We always remain attentive to mitigate these occurrences, and are ready to act at the first signs of trouble.

Q: Do you allow parents to drop off and pick up?
A: Though all of our parents are welcome to come out we don’t allow personal pick-ups and drop-offs unless agreed upon in advance. Emergency situations are understood. We allow pick up and drop off for boarding clients at a scheduled time convenient for all parties.
Q: Do you use shock/bark collars on dogs?
A: No we do not.

Q: What are your interpretations of "humping" between dogs?
A: Humping between dogs is a gesture of dominance and /or anxious behavior from either dog.

Q: Are dogs kenneled in vehicles?
A: Some dogs are kenneled while in vehicles. Some dogs are uncomfortable when in close proximity and those are the ones that are kenneled. Most dogs are free-roaming in our vehicles.
Q: What tools do you use on dogs when it comes to training?
A: We utilize dominant slip-leashes (per parents consent) , 2.25 or 3.00 mm germ-springer prong collars (per parents consent), educator e-collars (per parents consent), gently leader (per parents consent), long leashes, and kennels.
Q: How do you ensure dogs are safe during daycare and Day School?
A: Though there are risks with having a pack of dogs together, we always remain diligent and do our best to minimize issues, and deter them altogether. Dogs have to pass a temperament assessment (Meet and Greet Session) before joining any socialization services. Iowa law states that there must be 1 adult present for every 15 dogs in service. We maintain higher standards to ensure safety, utilizing a ratio of 1:10. If a dog is being unruly they will be separated until we feel we can let them re-engage with the pack.
